Delete The Following Apps On Your Phone if Your Bank Account Has Some Money

DELETE THE FOLLOWING APPS ON YOUR PHONE IF YOUR BANK ACCOUNT HAS SOME MONEY

Researchers have warned android phone users against installing mobile applications that come with a back door which allow hackers to install their codes on a targeted individual’s phone, which they use to steal crucial data from the phone.

The stolen data which include back passwords, messages, etc. is then sold to other parts and/or used to steal from one’s bank account.

Armed with your bank details, hackers can sweep clean all your bank accounts and plunge you into total poverty.

According to Standard, researchers from Check Point have warned that several popular apps let hackers copy your password and break into your account.

They noted that most of these apps come with a vulnerability known as CVE-2020-8913, which allows hackers to inject your phone with their codes.

Once the app is corrupted, the hackers get the root privileges also known as super-admin privileges, where they can do anything they want on your phone.

“For example, the vulnerability could allow a threat actor to steal two-factor authentications codes or inject code into banking applications to grab credentials.

“Or, a threat actor could inject code into social media applications to spy on victims or inject code into all IM apps to grab all messages. The attack possibilities here are only limited by a threat actor’s imagination,” the researcher said as quoted by the Standard.

Fortunately, Google has moved swiftly and worked on some of the backdoors created on some apps.

Some apps said to have been affected which you should consider deleting from your phone are:

Viber, Booking, Cisco Teams, Yang Pro, Moovit, Grindr, OKCupid, Bumble, Edge, Xrecorder and Power Director
